The Nigerian Agricultural insurance corporation says it has paid insurance claims of N848m to insured farmers in 2020.

The Chief Executive Officer, NAIC, Mrs Folashade Joseph, also said that in 2019 the corporation paid N856m to its insured farmers who suffered losses.

She further stated that, “NAIC, since its establishment as an agricultural risk management agency of the Federal Government, has continued to deliver on its major mandates of providing succor to farmers and comfort to financial institutions which lend to participants in the primary agricultural production sector.

“To serve its clients who are located across the country, the corporation has very experienced and dedicated staff in every state of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory.”

The corporation also urges agricultural investors and lending institutions to continue to partner with NAIC which is committed to the food safety agenda of the Federal Government.

I personally believe that facts should support claims and in this situation I don’t think I see that. I don’t think I’ve seen the effects of the so called insurance claims that farmers are said to have gotten.
